Day 4 (Maybe 5? 😅)

The shakes are still decidedly disappointing. But I will use up the whole pot because I paid for it and they don't seem to do refunds.

I did, on the other hand, get a pleasant surprise in the flavoured collagen. I genuinely have no idea if the actual collagen part is helpful or doing what it should, but the orange and mango flavour is actually really good.

I accidentally put it in my shake the other day, and it made it surprisingly bearable after I got over the initial shock. And look at that colour 😍. Might be the one product that's actually worth my time in this lot 🤔

Day 1, Breakfast Shake: Not a great start! 😅

Before I could even try the shake, the cap broke on the shaker 🤦‍♀️

I got the women's health shake in salted caramel, and I was looking forward to trying it! Followed the instructions and made it with milk (and a scoop of the creatine).

Texture: Bit powdery, seemed to dissolve fairly well, but decidedly not a creamy shake. Didn't have lumps in it though, so that was good.

Taste: Weak, couldn't really taste the caramel beyond a slight aftertaste.

Rating: 6/10. Definitely had worse protein shakes but it didn't impress.

I'm trying it so you don't have to!

3 week trial run of Protein Works, using all the products they recommend for a weight loss plan, plus their creatine and collagen.

Been pretty hardcore with Herbalife for 3 years so going to be very strange to be off that for 3 weeks, but gotta try new things from time to time.

I'll post updates here each day to let everyone know how I'm getting on with it.

Working on the dog being able to have walks again, so far so good 🤞🤞

Just gotta get that walking with slack in the lead thing going 🤣🤦‍♀️

She has to wear the caution sign because she's incredibly dog reactive and won't take a muzzle at all.

Having a reactive dog makes life super difficult for me when it comes to taking her places (before anyone says it, I've spent thousands on dog trainers and not one has made a difference), so it's nice to get even a short, not unpleasant walk in with her.

Same filter, about 5 years difference 🤯

The first photo was a bbq somewhere between 2018-2021, and the second is a couple weeks after I started working at PureGym West Bridgford (Autumn of 2024).

I find these photos and I genuinely feel shocked when I see them. I still look in the mirror and see myself as big, I can hardly believe the difference between the two... 👀

I'm going to keep pushing, because I owe it to myself to give myself a healthy future, but sometimes you look back and just can't believe how things have changed, I'm so grateful for the life I'm building myself now.

I always want to practice what I preach, so walking lunges are in my plan (maybe not every week, but they're in there somewhere 🤣) even though I deeply dislike them.

With my bad knees, I need to make sure I keep up with exercises like these. The huge array of muscles covered in walking lunges make them invaluable (even if they're unpleasant) and they also help with stability, flexibility, joint mobility, and balance.

Well worth adding to any leg day! 🦵

I spent too long in 2024 judging myself for not doing enough, and not looking at how much I was doing, how much I achieved.

Do what makes you happy, don't live life based on someone else's judgement of what a good life is. If you're happy, it already is a good life. If you're not, change it until you are, but by YOUR RULES.

You live your life, not anyone else, and you are doing a damn good job of it 😘

What a difference a couple years makes!

Progress has been slow due to my health issues but it's progress nonetheless!

Couldn't have imagined being in this position a couple years ago but now I'm a qualified PT, working in Puregym, working with amazing people every day, and loving every second.

Fitness doesn't just change your health, it introduces you to a community you never knew existed where support and enthusiasm are the norm.

It's unlike anything else.

Crazy to think my journey with PureGym started a month ago! Made new friends, started a new phase of my life, and started enjoying every single day of it.

It was quite the adjustment, going from doing very little during the day, to running classes and working with people all day every day.

This photo was taken at one of our training days when I got a real insight into the kind of workplace (and life) I was stepping into. If I'd ever doubted my decision, that day removed any question in my mind of what I wanted to do.
